GOING ON

Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.(NIV) (Habakkuk 3: 2)

I titled my first page "GONE". I titled this page "GOING ON". Here is the story: Noah's Ark Ristorante, established in 1946,  is located at 2400 Ingersoll in Des Moines. The great food, atmosphere and people have made this the "go-to" place for many people throughout time. In fact, as we visited this place today, we reflected back on sentimental times of earlier years. When we were first married, we had what today's generation would call "date night" every week. We had reservations and the hostess greeted us by name when we walked through the door. She seated us at our usual table for good food and great memories. I still remember our favorite waiter saying, "the butter is cold, but the rolls are hot." As time went on our visits were less frequent, but we took it for granted that Noah's Ark would be there forever. Wouldn't you know--there is a glitch in the story. The future of this great family friendly restaurant was in question the past few years due to a family feud. The news media kept us informed, but it was also in doubt, until an agreement was finally reached.

My View for the Month: At my age, I don't think much about what's ahead, but  memories of the past are very important. I am happy Noah's Ark is GOING ON!
